ABOUT
THE BAND

Born out of the love of the music from FREE and Bad Company with Paul Rodgers on vocals. Free Company was started by 3 seasoned musicians hailing from both Crossville and Cookeville, Tennessee. Bill Owen (guitar), Tommy Owens (drums) and Zach Scannavino (bass/vocals).

What if blues-rock went arena-sized?

Formed in 1973 as one of the first official supergroups, Bad Company combined members of Free, Mott the Hoople, and King Crimson. Fronted by Paul Rodgers—often hailed as one of rock’s finest vocalists—the band struck a perfect balance between soulful blues and muscular hard rock, tailor-made for the FM radio era.

Their debut album, Bad Company, was an instant classic. With hits like “Can’t Get Enough,” “Feel Like Makin’ Love,” and the title track, they created a sound that was big, bold, and unmistakably authentic. Rodgers’ rich voice, Mick Ralphs’ punchy guitar, and Simon Kirke’s solid drums made for a tight, powerful unit.

Bad Company’s music didn’t rely on gimmicks or excess. They delivered solid, no-nonsense rock that resonated with both critics and audiences. Throughout the ‘70s, they filled stadiums and sold millions of records while maintaining a grounded, blues-based sound that stood apart from more flamboyant contemporaries.

Their influence is felt in the classic rock and AOR bands that followed. Though lineup changes and hiatuses occurred, the core of Bad Company’s legacy—soulful vocals, tight grooves, and timeless songwriting—remains a gold standard for blues-driven hard rock.
